Roghair Angus Ranch is located in central South Dakota along Interstate 90 near Okaton. We believe in the value of a good horse and hard work. We enjoy ranching not only as our livelihood, but also as a way of life. We raise our cows on grass in the spring, summer and fall months, and supplement with hay in the winter months when snow covers the ground and temperatures drop below zero. We have slowly incorporated AI over the years. The last few years we have AI bred most of our cows before turning out with our clean-up bulls. We have recently become equipped to incorporate embryo transfer as well. We are excited with the prospects that brings. We choose our replacements by conformity, disposition, longevity, and ability to raise a calf. We believe that a cow does not have to be overly large or have an over-abundance of milk to raise a good calf, rather, the right genetics. We choose our bulls on calving ease, conformity, disposition, longevity and ability to produce good replacements and calves for our customers. |
