Roghair Angus Ranch is a family run ranch in Central South Dakota, operated by Brad and Shawna Roghair. We raise registered angus cattle along with commercial cows. The commercial cows serve to expand our Embryo Transfer program. In the years since we moved onto the ranch, we have been striving to improve the way we are headed with our cattle. We have made the move to produce cattle that are easy calving, easy to get along with and easy fleshing that are efficient and will stick around and raise calves for us for a good, long while. We have incorporated AI and ET by learning to do both ourselves, which has been very beneficial in taking our herd the way we would like to see it go. In the past, we sold registered angus bulls private treaty. For the past three years we have made the move to offer our bulls in our RARE Annual Production Sale in Philip, SD. We are excited about this change and the broader range of people we now have the opportunity to meet and do business with.
We both work on the ranch and love sharing this experience with our five daughters. We all stay involved in the day to day work that comes from ranching. We feel that is the best way to spend time together and to teach life skills, responsibility, and work ethic to our kids.
We also have come to specialize in outfitting the cowboy and cowgirl with quality, handcrafted, leather cowboy gear. This began as a hobby and has become more of an addition to what we produce. We began selling on ebay just to move some of the things we had begun to collect and quickly found that there had become a market for our hobby. We specialize in cowboy chinks, spur straps, bronc style nosebands, and have done other custom work as time allows. We seek to leave our customers satisfied with our product and service.
